What’s the difference between a wine cabinet and a wine
cooler?
Wine Coolers
such as Danby, Franklin and Marvel can hold as little as 17
Bottles and up to 120 Bottles. They are built smaller and are
best for your ‘everyday’ wines that you plan on drinking within
a year or so. These are ideal for the beginner wine collector.
The humidity in the coolers tends to be lower (under 50%) which
can dry out your corks over a period of years. That is why we
recommend wine coolers for your everyday wines and not for
long-term storage. One option to raise the humidity is to place
a bowl of water in the cooler. The best way to determine if
that’s needed is by placing a temperature and humidity gauge
inside.
Temperature Controlled Wine Cabinets can hold 80 bottles up to
2500 bottles. The cooling systems used are more advanced with
temperature and humidity control and are meant for long-term
storage and aging of wine. These units are set at 55-57 degrees
and humidity 50-70%. These cabinets have a large variety of
furniture window styles to choose from whereas the wine coolers
look more like mini refrigerators. If you have valuable wine
and/or are seeking long term storage, wine cabinets are the best
way to go.

Why
would I need a wine cabinet or wine cooler?
The need for a
wine cooler or cabinet depends on how often you drink and
collect wine. For those that just have a few bottles and plan
on drinking within that month, there really isn’t a need for a
cooler. Just be sure to store it in the coolest part of your
house…for example your closet. We have a wide variety of
wine racks to choose from. BUT for those that happen to
have a few cases and are not planning on drinking for a year or
so, you should invest in either a wine cooler or a
wine cabinet.

Can I
have my cabinet be ‘built in’ or ‘under the counter’ ?
YES, we
recommend the Danby or Marvel 50 Bottle Wine Coolers if you want
to place it in your kitchen or under the counter. Marvel also
makes a 30 Bottle Cooler that is the same size as a trash
compactor.
Any of the wine
cabinets can be built with Front Top Venting that allows you to
place the cabinet in an alcove area. Please contact us for
consultation.

How
long will it take to receive my wine cabinet or cooler once
I place an order?
The wine
coolers are usually always in stock and ship out within 5
business days. Depending on the size of the wine cooler, it
will ship either UPS or Freight Carrier and takes about 2-7
business days to receive.
The wine
cabinets are custom built to your specifications, so the
production time can range from 4-10 weeks depending on your
order. We ALWAYS ship with our First Class Indoor Delivery
Service to ensure a proper delivery will take place. We DO NOT
prebill you on shipping for wine cabinet deliveries unless you
request it. By paying COD, you pay for your true shipping costs
rather than just a standard rate.

Can I
save shipping expense by picking up the wine cabinet at the
factory?
SURE, you can
pick up the Vinotheque cabinets in Stockton, CA or California
Wine Cellars in San Jose, CA. They will crate the cabinet for
you. Cabinets should be transported upright in order to prevent
any damage to the cooling system. Any damage done during
transportation will not be warranted by the factory, that is the
risk you take when doing a pick up.
We carry some
wine coolers in stock at our store if you are interested.
Please call us to make sure we have the item in stock, otherwise
we can make arrangements to have the cooler ship directly to
your house.

to you at no charge. You must notify us immediately so we can
process the claim.
